what's a girl to do

So back in March or April, I started looking for a second job for the summer because the job I had were going through some...financial difficulties.

I put in my application in places where I thought I would like to work. I actually got hired on the spot at one job, but the manager was such a bitch that I couldn't stand to be in the same room with her, so I quit.

I had an interview with my college's computer help services and he told me that he would have to speak with him boss, but that it might work out.

So I wait, and when I didn't hear anything back from him, I looked around again. One of the professors in the CS department that I work at used to work in the ITs Department. The ITs department basically handled the phone system, website, voicemail, our network as a whole.

She called the Admin and told me that I needed to get her a resume, which I did about three days later. I do basically the same thing I do at my first job; work as an office assistant.

I get a call today from the guy in student computing services, asking me if I was still interested. -_-

I was trying to think of a quick, diplomatic solution to this, because reality of it is, I want this job. So I said that I was going to work through my scheduling this week and asked if I could call him back Thursday.

There, solution! He replied, "That's fine, but keep in mind that this is the time of year we're looking for people"

-_-

I told him that I understood and that I appreciate him calling me back and that I would get back to him no later than Thursday.

So here's this girl's conundrum...

I'm taking 15 hours next semester...I'm already working one other job definately....and sadly, I knew somewhere in my head, I would have to work a second to keep me afloat.

Now, the second job that I picked up I could also definately work at during the Fall semester; the admin already said I could.

Now, as a Computer Science Major, sitting at a desk, is probably what I'll be doing for the rest of my life, so it doesn't bother me NOW that I'm doing it. But as a Computer Science Major, I want something that will help me with a career and in the future. Already working one office job, has my secretarial skills down, almost pat (I literally RUN the office when my boss isn't at Job1). So why would I need a second? And if this job working with the computers can help me and it's possible that it might somewhere down the road, then can I take a chance to pass it up?

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, random inquiries?

Thanks,

D_S

So...

I've had a job for over a year now. As a college student in her junior year, who also, lives with her parents, I feel obligated to work. My job is easy enough. It's on campus, working with the Administrative Assistant of my major where I do basic clerical work and basic budget management (I keep track of our two budgets), which isn't so basic.

I hit a bad patch, monetarily, which is why I'm now working TWO jobs. Gotta live off something considering I'm paying my own car insurance, food, gas (which will make ANYONE go broke), cell phone, and sadly, my World of Warcraft subscription.

Don't get me wrong, I love WoW. I thank my friend Will for getting my addiction started. And there's nothing wrong with killing animals, creatures, bad guys, and whoever else may cross the road you're traveling on at the end of the day.

God knows, someone prolly would be in the hospital by now, if I didn't have my WoW.

So, at the end of the day so to speak, I'm literally sitting here, typing this because there's nothing to be done in the office.

My boss' boss, however, requires someone to be in the office until 5:30. 5:00 p.m. is the earliest I can leave while my boss gets to leave at 4:30.

*drops head on table and falls asleep*

*zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

*glares at computer and starts typing*

And realistically, the only thing that is keeping me through all of this, is that in 8 days, I get to see my best friend. Someone I haven't seen in 6 or is it 7 years now?

It's been so long, I think we both stopped counting.

So, anyone have any ideas as to how to handle boredom?

Thanks,

D_S
